Have You Selected a Summer Camp for your Child with Physical Disabilities?
It is the goal of the Summer Camp Inclusion Program to facilitate the successful inclusion of children who have physical disabilities within their community camp settings at Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds – Long Island. Campers should be in grades K – 10th. We pride ourselves on matching children with same age peers.
Some of the children that join us have difficulties with:
- Gross motor coordination due to conditions such as cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, hypertonia, hypotonia, spina bifida, spinal disease or injury, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
- Musculoskeletal System and Connective Tissue Diseases
- Significant hearing and/or visual disabilities
- Epilepsy or other forms of seizure disorders
- Neurological disorders such as Tourette’s syndrome
