to Special Services... Our
day camps specialize in serving children who have
developmental disabilities 5-21 years old.
Younger campers enjoy our center-based Childhood
Program,
located at the Y’s Little Neck site, where they swim, play in the
gym, cook, dance, as well as share arts and crafts activities and
music. Community-based
field trips highlight the summer experience.
Older campers are offered the adventure of a full day camping
experience at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds through our Campsite
Program.
Activities include swimming, nature fun, an overnight at our
Little Neck Site, community field trips, as well as a wide variety
of specialty activities, such as drama, music, sports and arts and crafts. The 350-acre campgrounds enables us to provide an outdoor
experience emphasizing maximum growth.
Transportation
for both programs is available from selected areas of Queens.
Program eligibility is determined by an interview and screening
process.
