Program Director, Youth & Adolescent Services
Director, Day Camping
Danielle started her camp career at the Samuel Field Y in 1998 as a participant of the Counselor-in-Training program. It was there that she fell in love with day camping and continued through to become an Assistant Division Head for the Teen Travel Camp. Those summers were all it took for the SFY spirit to take hold, and upon graduating from Queens College in 2005 she joined the staff team full time as the Director of Adolescent Services. In addition to being all things Teen Camp, Danielle was the year round Teen Director and took on the role of facilitating leadership programs and developing critical programs with cores in workforce development and life skill preparedness. Shortly after, Danielle graduated from Adelphi University with her Master’s Degree in Social Work, and ultimately obtained her state licensure. During the summer of 2010, Danielle was promoted to Program Director for Youth and Adolescent Services, along with overall Day Camp Director, the positions she holds today. Danielle also serves as an Accreditation Visitor for the American Camp Association.
Danielle loves her job for continuously allowing her to try and develop new programs, while constantly working to enhance and innovate existing ones. With her invaluable team of top professionals, she thanks her lucky stars to have the opportunity to watch and participate in making summers memorable for countless campers.
As she continues to work year round welcoming campers and staff to the Samuel Field Y family, she has added her own camper to the Junior Camp program for 2015, with her daughter Ruby. Danielle looks forward to seeing her own child join the many others, who will learn, play and grow at the Samuel Field Y Day Camp.
